The Los Angeles Rams and SoFi, a digital personal finance company, have joined forces with the City of Hermosa Beach to create a 60-yard turf football field right on Hermosa’s sandy shores.
This initiative coincides with the Rams’ celebration of their first-round pick in the NFL Draft since 2016. To mark this occasion, the team is setting on a week-long series of community activities at SoFi Field, commencing yesterday and running through May 2. Anticipated to draw over 2,000 local youngsters, the field will serve as a hub for football-related fun.
Throughout the week, the field will play host to a variety of community-focused events. Teaming up with the Hermosa Beach City School District and the Manhattan Beach Unified School District, the Rams will organise nine football-themed engagements. These will include youth football clinics, a flag football tournament, and other interactive activities. Adding to the excitement, Rams Cheerleaders and mascot Rampage are set to make special appearances at select events.
Once the draft festivities conclude, the Rams will donate the turf to a local community, according to their website.
